Cube Controls F-Core

$499 - $938 In Stock
Cube Controls F-Core

The verdict

Cube Controls quality at half the price. The F-Core proves you do not need to spend $1000 to get Italian boutique engineering.

Best for

  • Drivers wanting Cube Controls build quality on a moderate budget
  • Universal wheelbase owners via Bluetooth, USB, and Q-CONN
  • Wireless rig builds where cable management matters

Not for

  • Anyone wanting carbon fibre paddles, these are composite
  • Drivers who need a display or telemetry screen
  • Budget builders under $400, the Simagic GT Neo or MOZA KS cost far less

What it is

The F-Core is Cube Controls’ entry point into their formula wheel range. Italian company, real motorsport pedigree. Die-cast aluminium chassis with carbon-reinforced construction, 10 buttons, 2 rotary encoders, 2 joysticks, and magnetic paddle shifters. The build is noticeably above anything you will find in the sub-$500 bracket from the usual suspects.

Three connectivity options: Q-CONN magnetic cable, USB, and Bluetooth. That triple-mode flexibility is unusual at this price. The 2000mAh LiPo battery claims 40 hours, which tracks with similar wireless wheels I have seen tested. Standard 6x70mm bolt pattern, so it bolts onto most direct-drive bases through a compatible quick release.

Who it’s for

Sim racers who want proper motorsport-grade construction without the four-figure price tag. If you are running a Simucube, Moza, Simagic, or VRS base and you have outgrown your starter wheel, this is the obvious next step in the formula category. The $499 to $938 price range (depending on configuration) puts it squarely between budget and flagship territory.

In use

The magnetic paddle shifters have a clean, defined action. Ten buttons is enough for most titles without menu-diving, though power users may find themselves wanting more rotary options. The two joysticks handle MFD navigation and pit menus well in iRacing and ACC.

Bluetooth mode works. No perceptible input lag during normal use, and the battery life means you are not reaching for a cable mid-session. The Q-CONN magnetic connection is a nice touch for people who prefer wired reliability without fumbling with USB.

What to watch out for

The control count is modest compared to higher-end Cube wheels. If you need 12+ buttons or thumb encoders, you are looking at the F-Pro. No display option either, so if you rely on on-wheel telemetry readouts, factor in a separate dashboard.

Compatibility is broad but not universal. Check your specific base and QR combination before ordering. Fanatec users will likely need a Podium Hub or third-party adapter.

Verdict

A well-built formula wheel at a sensible price from a brand that actually supplies real racing teams. Not the most feature-dense option at this level, but the construction quality and triple connectivity justify the premium over Chinese alternatives. If ten buttons and two rotaries cover your needs, it is hard to fault.

Reviewer evidence

Quotes and footage from independent and affiliate reviewers, weighted by trust tier.

"It's hard to place because the wheel is coming from a manufacturer who normally charges more than twice the cost of the F-Core."

"The overall package is not a compromise. It has the Cube Controls ergonomics, switches and rotaries, the carbon face plate and so on."
